Meet Dr. Richard D. Willis
Dr. Richard Willis was born in Shreveport, LA. and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from La. State University in 1972 He graduated with honors from LSU School of Dentistry in 1976 and is a member of the C. W. Kells honor society. Dr. Willis then received his advanced education program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. During his oral surgery residency he served as chief resident at Charity Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Willis is a past president of the Northeast Louisiana Dental Association and a former associate professor at University of Louisiana Monroe. He has served on the N.E. Louisiana cleft palate clinic for 35 years.
He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Southeast Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, La. Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and the Northeast Louisiana Dental Association. He is the oral and maxillofacial surgery representative to the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry and is currently serving as board President. Dr. Willis is married to Teresa and they have two children, Kelly and Bo. He is an avid outdoorsman, pilot and family man. Dr. Willis was in private practice in Monroe, LA. for over 40 years serving our community. He no longer works full time but currently serves as a consulting partner for OSA.
