Meet Dr. Eric T. Geist

Dr. Eric Geist is a Louisiana native. He is married to Beth and they have two children, Jared and Brian. He completed his undergraduate dental training at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans, and then completed the advanced educational program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans and associated hospitals. He is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He served six years as a board examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He then was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons where he served for 6 years and as President of the Board. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the organization representing the the 11 states in the southeastern U.S. He is a fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, a fellow of the American College of Dentist, a fellow of the Pierre Fuchard Dental Honor Society, and a fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Geist is Clinical Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Department of Surgery at LSU Health Science Center, Shreveport and is Clinical Associate Professor and Course Director of Head and Neck Anatomy and General and Oral Pathology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He has lectured extensively at state and national meetings. He served as president of the Northeast Louisiana Dental Association and as president of the Louisiana Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Dental Association and as a member of the House of Delegates for the Louisiana Dental Association. His areas of special interest include dental implants, wisdom teeth, reconstructive jaw surgery and arthroscopic TMJ surgery.
