An Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMS) is a specialist of the mouth, teeth, jaw and facial structures. They must complete an additional 4 to 6 years of training after dental school. Many people suffer with pain from disease, defects, deformities or trauma in these areas. In addition to being the premiere specialty in the treatment of non-restorable teeth, facial pain, jaw abnormalities and facial trauma, Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of functional and cosmetic problems of the facial bones and associated soft tissues. The patient is constantly monitored to ensure safety in our in-office ambulatory surgical suite. Most outpatient procedures can be safely and efficiently performed in the office setting, avoiding costly, inconvenient and time-consuming hospitalization
